INTAMiND

Specialist CBT, EMDR & Relationship Trauma Services

I am Sam Spencer, the founder of INTAMiND, a qualified and registered UK Social Worker and NHS-trained BABCP-accredited Psychotherapist, with over 15 years of experience working in mental health.

I specialise in supporting women experiencing relational trauma, particularly where there is a sense of disconnection from the self and difficulty with feeling secure in relationships.

I offer trauma-informed, evidenced-based therapy, bringing together clinical expertise and lived experience to provide grounded, individualised support.

If this is where you are sitting today...

Please know that this is a natural response to stress, pain and trauma. When you are carrying this kind of hidden weight, your system naturally learns to protect itself by retreating just to survive.

This often looks like:

  • Keeping extra busy to avoid your own thoughts.

  • Avoiding relationships, specific places, or difficult conversations.

  • Self-isolation, making constant excuses to stay away from others.

  • Feeling entirely numb or emotionless about things you would usually respond to.

You may have recently experienced a traumatic relationship. You may find yourself making repeated relationship choices that no longer serve you, struggling to re-enter or maintain connections, or recognising childhood experiences that continue to affect your relationships today.

My practice is specifically built for women who want to process their past, feel safe in themselves, and gain control of their future. If you want to explore how these trauma patterns show up in your daily life,

Feeling Disconnected

  • Feeling alone, even when you’re with people.

  • Feeling separated from yourself or your emotions.

  • Feeling misunderstood, dismissed, or invisible.

  • Emotional exhaustion or isolation, wishing someone would take over.

  • Feeling guarded or "closed down".

  • Feeling as though you are "in a bubble" or "numb" as though you are watching life from the outside.

How INTAMiND works
INTAMiND works through a three-stage framework: Regulate, Restore, Rebuild.
These stages are used flexibly throughout therapy, depending on what you need at any given time.

Initial sessions are used to build a clear understanding of your experiences, needs, and goals, which then informs how we work together. This therapeutic process takes time, and meaningful change is usually developed over several sessions rather than in a single or short-term piece of work.

REGULATE

We begin by helping your nervous system find greater calm and stability.

When your system is less activated, it becomes easier to notice thoughts, emotions, and reactions without being overwhelmed by them.

This stage focuses on creating internal safety and building the capacity to pause, reflect, and respond.

RESTORE

Next we explore how your current patterns have developed.

You begin to understand how past experiences may be shaping your relationships, emotional responses, and sense of self today.

As awareness builds, you start to reconnect with your own needs, instincts, and preferences more clearly.

REBUILD

Finally we focus on applying this understanding in your life.

This includes developing boundaries, improving relationship choices, and strengthening your ability to act in alignment with yourself.

The emphasis is on sustainable change, confidence in your own judgement, and building a life that feels more steady and self-directed.

Working Together to Get You Here

INTAMiND offers a one-to-one space where you can be seen, heard, and understood.

We explore what you have been through with care and compassion, helping you make sense of your experiences at a pace that feels manageable.

The focus is on helping you develop clarity, confidence, and a more stable sense of direction in your life.
